In a suit brought by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled against the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) saying that portions of the EEOC’s final wellness regulations related to wellness incentives were arbitrary. The court ordered the EEOC to review the rules and make changes to satisfy the court. Although the current ruling does not change anything immediately, it raises questions about how employers will handle their wellness plans in the future. This webinar will review current EEOC regulations and the existing HIPAA wellness rules, and it will help employers think about how to prepare for changes that may be made to the EEOC rules as a result of the AARP case.
