Technology can be both a blessing and a curse when it comes to employee benefits compliance. Technology can help benefits managers be more efficient, such as using electronic distribution of required notices, but rules must be followed.
Good benefit administration systems can also assist with important employee communications and documentation. At the same time technology can increase risk. Breaches of electronic PHI are becoming more common, so employers must be more vigilant in how they protect this data, and new healthcare technologies like telehealth can create compliance challenges. This webinar will explore the intersection, both good and bad, of benefits technology and employer benefits compliance obligations.

He has served as the principal HIPAA consultant to a number of health insurance companies and is recognized as an expert on a variety of benefit compliance issues including COBRA, FMLA, health reform and more.
