History, Mission & Values

John Catto, Jr. founded Catto & Catto in 1933; his brother Henry joined the firm a few years later. The company has experienced steady growth since its inception, and remains an independent agency.

Three generations and more than 80 years after its founding, Catto & Catto has ten owners. We are committed to our vision of being the premier independent insurance agency in the communities we serve, and to giving future owners the opportunity to own a part of this great company.

We are widely recognized for stability and dedication to the people who make up our team. Most of the agency’s 60-plus employees have been with the firm for years, some for decades — as a group, average tenure is more than 8 years.

We help clients understand and manage their total cost of risk by providing solutions and services with the honesty, expertise, creativity and positive attitude they deserve.

We have a long history of service to our community, nation and the world; one of our founders, Henry Catto, Jr., served four United States presidents as Ambassador to El Salvador, Chief of Protocol, Assistant Secretary of Defense, Ambassador to the Court of St. James and Chief of the US Information Agency. Today Catto & Catto team members serve our local community, state, nation and the world in exciting ways.

Our mission & values

Our mission is to thoughtfully develop and professionally deliver customized insurance, risk management, surety, benefits and wellness solutions to our clients via the Catto & Catto Experience.

We value great attitudes, integrity, taking initiative and job knowledge in our team members. These values serve as the foundation of our approach to insurance solutions; we serve those who share these values while striving for a fun, challenging and rewarding environment for our people.
